The GSM-AUTO is a GSM remote control switch, it connects to the cell phone network and like a cell phone it has its own telephone number. The GSM-AUTO is activated by calling its cell phone number, it will recognise an authorised telephone number calling it, reject the call without answering and switch on or off the device connected to it, because it rejects the call without answering there are no call costs incurred.

It has 2 independent relay switches with normally open and normally closed contacts, these can be programmed to switch on for a pre-determined length of time whenever the GSM-AUTO is called, alternatively the switches can be permanently switched on or off by sending the GSM-AUTO an sms text message.

Applications include the remote control of heating, lighting, engine pre-heaters, aviation engine heaters, irrigation systems, water well pumps, pumping stations, cabin heaters, resetting of remote servers, arming and disarming security systems

GSM Remote Control Switch Features

• Quad band GSM-850, GSM-900, GSM-1800, GSM-1900 MHz

• Relay contacts: 2 x normally open (N.O) and normally closed (N.C), maximum switching capacity 10 amps

• Power supply required: 12 volt dc @ 500 mA

• Two independent relays that can be programmed to switch on for a period of time between 1 second and 18 hours, programming is achieved by sending the unit text messages

• The relays can be permanently switched on or off by sending the GSM-AUTO a text message command, again a confirmation text will be returned

• Two access modes are available
  
  Open access, in this mode the GSM-AUTO will respond to any incoming call.
  
  Controlled access, up to 99 authorised user telephone numbers can be added to the white list, when this function is activated only the numbers in the white list are able to activate the GSM-AUTO, users can be added and deleted as required using text messages

What are the call costs?

The GSM-AUTO uses the mobile phone network and the same as a mobile phone it has a SIM card, when you call the GSM-AUTO it rejects the call without answering and switches on the device connected to it so there are no call costs incurred. When the GSM-AUTO is initially programmed it sends a confimation sms text message and this will be charged at your network operators rate.

Do I have to use a mobile phone to activate the GSM-AUTO?

No it can be activated using a landline
